This high-profile project for Translink involved securing a major bus depot in the Short Strand area of Belfast. Working alongside the main contractor, we delivered a robust perimeter security solution capable of handling heavy industrial traffic.
The site required two specialized gates: a massive sliding cantilever gate for the main bus entrance and a heavy-duty swing gate for auxiliary access.
Engineering for Critical Infrastructure
Securing a public transport hub requires more than just a standard barrier. The gates must be incredibly durable to withstand constant daily use by large buses.
We manufactured the sliding gate in three sections at our workshop to manage its sheer size. Our team then transported the sections to Belfast and precision-welded them on-site. This method allowed us to install one of the largest security gates in Northern Ireland without compromising structural integrity.
Heavy-Duty Automation
Reliability is non-negotiable for a busy depot. If the gate fails, buses cannot leave, and the transport network suffers.
To prevent this, we installed specially sourced heavy-duty automation kits. These industrial motors are designed for high-intensity usage, ensuring the gates open and close smoothly hundreds of times a day.
